Rosie

Meet Rosie! This senior rat terrier/Chihuahua mix came to us after landing at a local shelter after her owner went to the hospital and was unable to take Rosie back home. It’s clear she was loved and spoiled and was very overwhelmed with the drastic change in her life. She is a quiet girl and a little timid at first. She loves food and once she is comfortable she is a sweet loving companion. She enjoys relaxing at home, going for easy walks around the block, and sunning in the yard while you garden. Rosie is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low energy lap dog. She enjoys sitting with you on the couch and she has proven to be a easy walker and even rides in your lap if you are in a wheelchair. Rosie does have a significant heart murmur and some other things going on (as we all face in maturity), but in working with our vet we have started her on some medications that have made a world of difference and she is symptom free and doing wonderful! With her age and medical condition that does mean she is looking for a very special home who is willing to open their hearts to her. She has already lost a couple needed pounds and we think this girl has a brand new lease on life!
