Meeko

Meeko! Look at that stud muffin smile – and just wait until you meet him – his personality is one of a kind! He is a perfect medium size dude, active yet snuggly, and has the brain power to solve complex math equations… well that might be a stretch but you get the point. He has separation anxiety but we have spent a lot of time working with him and his anxieties ARE manageable! He is currently living happily in a full time work schedule household with a mid day potty break. He does need to be crated and he does use a training collar while crated. Once established in a home and routine the collar won’t be needed as he has proven in his foster home, but he will need it once adopted for some time so his new family will need to be open minded to this tool and be willing to learn about it more from us. As said above, he is super intelligent, super loving, playful, totally adorable, and always ready for fun or snuggling. He would thrive in a home that would like a side kick on all the fun things that life has to offer, and it doesn’t have to be anything fancy. He is just as content snuggling on the couch for a good movie and/or going for a hike on the trails! Meeko appears to be part cat and will often end up in your lap if you let him. Meeko loves to play with other dogs so he would do well in a home with another stable confident dog. He would also be okay as a solo dog with a mom/dad/family who will keep him mentally and physically active. School aged kids who can give basic commands will be best for Meeko- especially when he needs to reign in his puppy energy a little. Meeko can be a bit possessive of his favorite things so he’ll do best with separate play time if he has a fur sibling, especially until everyone is settled and adjusted. We have heard that Meeko can be a bit grumbly when other dogs are around him while he’s eating. Although that hasn’t been observed in his current foster home, he enjoys eating in peace in his crate. Meeko is ready for his true forever peeps. We hope we can help him find them soon- he has certainly earned it!
