Meet Cucumber! She is a sweet girl looking for a family who loves the hound breed and all of their antics. She is crate trained and understands house manners, though she is a sucker for smelly food on the table and jumping up on things so she just needs a little supervision and direction to keep her on the right track. :p She is an active girl for an hour or two and then is a total couch potato. She loves taking walks and smelling everything, she is a great jogging partner too! She has a steady pace and stays in her lane. The outdoors are her favorite and will need a fenced yard not only to enjoy but to be able to run free as she isn’t trustworthy off leash (have we mentioned she is around dog, haha). She is great with other dogs and loves playing. She is generally good with confident cats who will stand their ground but if given the chance she will take into a game of chase. She rides great in the car and has enjoyed many field trips to adoption events, breweries, pet stores, and tractor supply. She doesn’t know a stranger! Cucumber stays in an airline crate while we are away at work, she gets a little anxious once in awhile which is quickly corrected with a simple bark collar. She will need a home with teenaged children or older because when she gets over excited she can play rough and she just needs someone mature to understand how to curb that. She sleeps in her crate or on her own dog bed. She is a very sound sleeper and can startle awake so it takes her a minute sometimes to fully wake up so we don’t let her sleep in bed or on the couch snuggling to avoid her staring awake. She walks in easily with telling her “kennel” and calmly comes out when it is time. Cucumber is curious and wants to be with you. She really just wants to be someone’s side kick on all their adventures. She’s ready for her forever home!
